This project seeks to enhance social connection and belonging on university campuses through sharing interventions and developing research. We aim to strengthen social connection, a key strategy for supporting not only college students at risk for mental health challenges but the general population as well. Research shows that social connection can serve as a powerful facilitator of academic and social engagement on campus as well as a protective factor against suicide, suicidal ideation, depression, and self-harm, and can help students access support sooner.
This site features student-designed proposals created to foster connections and belonging in undergraduate settings. These projects were created by undergraduate students themselves, offering firsthand insight into what they believe would foster stronger social connections among their peers. They are intended to serve as potential resources for colleges who are interested in exploring new ways to support student well-being on their campuses.
